CONCLUSION
Hopefully this brief overview of the conference will convey a useful impression of the current thinking on pain and its management.
As Dr. Eastwood quoted in his lecture:
"The more I practise, the luckier I get." (Gary Player)....there is a wealth of pain research taking us forward into the twenty-first century.
It is important that doctors do not get "stuck" on "fashionable" notions but take a rounded view on pain and its victims...as Florence Nightingale said:
"Facts are everything. Doctrines are nothing."
